Hinton wrote a good biography of Cordell Hull. Much of the story involves Hull before his eleven years as Secretary of State. Hull has a reputation as not having a big role in foreign policy under Roosevelt. The book wrote about how he concentrated a lot on Latin America. Hinton too theorizes that Hull was very modest and did not get much credit for his contributions. It seems tough that longevity didn't equal big personal achievements as Secretary of State.John Navarra
